Downloading video files on phone from wd mycloud app
· The only reasons I bought the My Cloud Mirror for was to a) be able to sync my pictures from the phones to the cloud and b) be able to download media (music / videos) from the cloud to my mobile devices for the latter I have shares that are read only for the app users (my family members) so they cannot mess up deleting or moving around media files on the cloud, but they were still good to. · Get a decent file manager. Connect to your MyCloud as a file server (locally). Use the file manager to copy the file from the location on your phone to your selected location on the MyCloud. Or install the MyCloud mobile app, and setup the auto-backup location. I then see a “MY Cloud” folder named “Downloads Shares”. · I have installed the My Cloud app on my android device – a Lenovo tablet. It seems to work well with one exception. I can see the shares on My Cloud, I can open a file in the share if I have the correct app on android. I can rename a file in the share. I can upload a file from android to My Cloud.
In the menu that pops up, tap "Select" then check the video you want to save to your phone and tap the "Share" icon in the bottom left corner. Tap "Send a copy" in the menu that pops up. Then the video would be saved on my phone in a folder in my photo gallery where I could play it. For some strange reason now when I tap on “save to mobile device” the video saves with the file extension bltadwin.ru I have installed the My Cloud app on my android device – a Lenovo tablet. I can upload a file from android to My Cloud. When I use the WD My Cloud for Android app and select an MP4 video file the app pops up a dialog box asking me to choose an app to play/open the file. I select MX Player and the file begins playing after a few short seconds.
